Deb Egloff Debbie has been interested in athletics and fitness her entire life. She was an all-conference sprinter in college and completed the Army's airborne training soon after graduation. While serving in the U.S. Army, Debbie also represented her unit in several fitness competitions. In the last ten years, she has trained for and finished road races ranging from 5Ks to full marathons.
Debbie has an Associates degree in exercise science and a certificate in personal training from Montgomery College. She is an ACSM certified health fitness specialist and RRCA certified running coach. Debbie knows what it takes to develop an improved level of fitness or regain a high level of fitness after a long period of inactivity. She will use her knowledge and experience to help you reach your personal fitness goals.
Rich Guzman Rich has been a practicing fitness trainer for over 8 years. Rich is certified by the American Council on Exercise as a personal trainer, CPR/AED/First Aid-certified, and recently completed the Cardiovascular Nutrition and Fitness Course by Nutrition Dimension, Inc.
A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Rich was a varsity Division-I collegiate wrestler before earning a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering and a commission as a naval officer. While in the Navy, he was an assistant strength trainer and conditioning coach for the USNA Athletic Department; and has worked with a variety of clientele, focusing on weight reduction, strength gain, and improved flexibility.
Rich has developed workout programs for a variety of age groups and fitness levels, including youth, seniors, and competitive athletes. He also uses functional agility and plyometric training, with emphasis on improving strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. Rich uses physio balls, resistance bands, weights, calisthenics, interval and circuit exercises for a total functional training experience.
Wesley McKee Wesley's experience includes sports training camp counselor, senior aerobics instructor, Hapkido training, and a competitive athlete. His fitness proficiencies include strength training, fitness monitoring, functional and sports specific training, cardiovascular conditioning, client consulation and personal motivation. Wesley is a NESTA Certified Personal Fitness Trainer. He is a performance driven health and wellness professional with an extensive knowledge in human biology, as well as sports training. Goal oriented, ready to be the best in the health and fitness field as a trainer, motivator and business professional.
Pat Karlsson Backe Pat Karlsson Backe is the owner of Senior Fall Prevention, LLC, whose mission is to provide balance training, education and resources to our active aging population in the Kingstowne/Alexandria, Virginia area. In addition to senior balance and mobility training, Pat teaches Yoga, Pilates, Kickboxing, and Aqua aerobics. Pat's unique talent for working with the young at heart to promote a balanced and healthy body and mind have attracted a loyal and diverse following to her classes at Kingstown and her home studio.
She has worked in the fitness industry for twenty one years in health clubs, private corporations, recreation departments and senior centers teaching to all ages and abilities.
Mrs. Backe, formerly the Fall Interventions Manager for Erickson Retirement Communities based in Catonsville, MD, was a critical force in developing and implementing the signature Fall Interventions Team (FIT) Initiative for all 18 Erickson Retirement Communities nationwide. She is actively teaching Balance & Strength and Senior Yoga at the Kingstowne Active Adult Community. Last year Pat joined the team at Kingstown as an Aqua Aerobics and Yoga instructor. This fall, Pat's Wednesday and Friday 9:30 am Pilates Mat classes were so popular catering to young mothers and others, that a Monday 9:30 am Pilates and a 10:30 am Wednesday Muscle Fit class were added to the morning schedule. Next session, she will be offering a Senior Yoga class.

LaSaun Taylor
LaSaun is an AFAA Certified Personal Trainer with a B.A. in Psychology from George Mason University. She received the Top Trainer Production Award at Gol'd Gym of Alexandria in 2006 and 2007. LaSaun is a RKC (by Pavel Tsatsouline) and a KBC Kettleball Instructor. She specializes in functional training, weight loss motivation and nutrition.
Angie Trinka Angie leads a very active lifestyle and keeps in great condition through many fitness activities, including skiing, rollerblading, tennis, and martial arts. She is a certified personal trainer through National Aerobics Fitness Trainer Association (NAFTA), a Master Trainer for WTS, and aerobics instructor, and CPR/First Aid Certified. Angie keeps a very flexible schedule and helps her clients reach their goals through teaching the importance of weights training and cardiovascular exercise. She is extremely motivating and determined to help her clients reach their goals...just ask any of her clients! Over 99 percent of them have achieved their weight and/or fitness goals! Numerous clients have continued with her for years.

Fit Teens If you or your child is between the ages of 13 and 16 years old and would like to exercise in the fitness centers unaccompanied, you may participate in our Fit Teens program. Sessions with a personal trainer will teach you or your child about proper gym etiquette and fitness. Please call the fitness centers for details! |
