NOVEMBER ARC HIGHLIGHTS

J. D. Gray called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm
REVIEW OF MINUTES:
Paul Lindell moved to accept the minutes for the October ARC meeting. Jim Jeweler seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
J. D. Gray moved to approve the replacement walkway. It was suggested that the owner follow current Fairfax County code by installing three risers and a railing. The approval is contingent that the excavation not negatively affects the drainage to neighboring properties and common ground. Paul Lindell seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
J. D. Gray moved to deny the application for the tree removal because insufficient cause for removal was provided. Jim Jeweler seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
J. D. Gray moved to approve the application for the deck with the condition that it is treated with only clear stain or preservative that allows the natural wood grain to be visible and that the excavation not negatively affects the drainage to neighboring properties and common ground. Baxter Lawrence seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
Paul Lindell moved to approve the application for the replacement light fixture. Sarah Wagner seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
07-400 Window and Roof Replacement
J. D. Gray moved to approve the application for the window and roof replacement. It was strongly suggested that the owner consider installing grids in the windows to restore the original design and maintain curb appeal. Baxter Lawrence seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
07-396 Replace Windows
Baxter Lawrence moved to approve the application for the replacement windows. The approval is contingent that the trim matches the color of the existing trim. J. D. Gray seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
Baxter Lawrence moved to approve the application for the garage door. J. D. Gray seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
J. D. Gray moved to approve the application for the address numerals. Paul Lindell seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
J. D. Gray moved to approve the application for the fence with the condition that the fence does not extend beyond the front corner of the home. Baxter Lawrence seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
07-399 Portico
Baxter Lawrence moved to approve the application for the portico. It was suggested that the owner consider installing either a gutter or diverter across the front of the portico. Paul Lindell seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
07-382 Replacement House Numbers
J. D. Gray moved to approve the application for the replacement house numbers with the condition that the numbers be relocated or the bushes trimmed to allow the numbers to be visible. Paul Lindell seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
J. D. Gray moved to approve the application for the vent cap. The ARC expressed concern that the location of the vent could allow for discoloration of the siding requiring constant maintenance. Baxter Lawrence seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
07-378 Lighting
J. D. Gray moved to approve the application for the lighting. Paul Lindell seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
07-386 Shed
J. D. Gray moved to approve the application for the shed. Baxter Lawrence seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
J. D. Gray moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:05 pm. Paul Lindell seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
