KROC BOARD MEETING HIGHLIGHTS
Board highlights are written from DRAFT minutes prior to the Board approval and are subject to change. 

·        Guest speaker, Lee District Supervisor Jeff Mc Kay discussed 2008 real estate tax assessments, the Base Realignment And Closure (BRAC) initiative, land use surrounding Kingstowne and the revitalization of Springfield Mall.  For more information, see Board News on page ….

·        The Board voted to contract with a third party organization to provide voting and ballot counting services for the KROC elections.  Under the new contracted services  electronic voting will be emphasized however paper ballots will be available as well.  The service will begin with the 2008 elections

·        The Board voted to support the development of the Regional Library and Lee Village, a mixed-use housing development, with a strong recommendation to revise the parking component of the plan.  This project  will be located at Beulah Street near Manchester Lakes Blvd.

·        The Board discussed the agenda for Neighborhood Advisory Board (NAB) Spring Meeting and set a tentative date to hold the event

·        The Board voted to ask Supervisor Mc Kay to obtain legal evaluation of the accusations made during the January 28, 2008 Board of Supervisors meeting regard the Towne Center Project

·        The Board deferred action regarding policy governance and executive limitations interpretations

·        The Board voted to maintain its relationship with investment advisor Smith Barney, however the advisory function will be moved from the Silver Springs office to the DC office
