Kingstowne will now be offering private yoga sessions with certified yoga instructor, Janna Audey, at the South Center Aerobics Room. Private lessons are designed to help yoga practitioners, new and advanced students alike, to take their practice to a deeper level. Availability M-F, 7AM-4PM (last class at 3PM M-T, Th-F; 4PM on W) Saturday, 2PM-5PM. Please contact Janna at to set up your sessions today! See registration form at either fitness center.
Janna Audey has been practicing yoga for eight years, has taught over 700 classes, and has been studying yoga for almost twenty years. When asked what makes her teaching style unique, she says, “It started with the company I studied under—who stands behind their yoga for every body by teaching its instructors various modifications for each pose. Personally, I tend to bring all elements of yoga into each class-- yoga is a part of my everyday life, and I’m constantly seeking, learning. I feel incredibly grateful to be able to guide people on their individual path…I love my work!”
Janna is a certified Hatha yoga instructor, and tends to teach with a vinyasa, or flow, approach. When it comes to deep stretching, Janna likes to guide the students to hold the poses a bit longer. “Holding the stretches certainly opens the connective tissues and joints, the physical body. However, deep stretching tends to help with off-the-mat life skills, such as patience, clarity, relaxation, and can calm the brain. We all need that in the D.C. metropolitan area!”
Janna is a cancer survivor, and used yoga breathing, imagery, and exercise, and teaching during her own recovery. She has taught yoga to cancer patients/survivors, as well as beginners, seniors, and professional athletes. She is certified in Kids Yoga and Seniors/Chair yoga, as well.
Janna will complete her 200-hour RYT certification on November 15-- quite a milestone on her personal yoga journey. |
