Highlights of the June 6, 2007 Meeting

KROC Governance

The board meeting opened with a public forum dedicated to the discussion of a new governance model being considered for adoption by the board of trustees. A formal presentation was given to the KROC volunteers in May. This session was devoted to addressing any questions posed by any KROC residents.

In other action, the board

Approved the addition of a $50 administrative fee to the bill for homes that are mowed by KROC due to yard maintenance neglect. This fee will partially offset the administrative work required to track and follow up on these issues.
Voted to take corrective action for yard maintenance violations against the owners of 30 homes, if the violations are not corrected by the deadline dates already provided to the homeowners.
Took action to initiate monetary fines against five property owners who have outstanding architectural violations.
Approved a revised list of street repairs and paving projects for 2007. This list included work on pipe stems in the Amherst Village Neighborhood. The repair work will take place this summer at a total cost of $421,486.
Approved the purchase of selected pieces of cardio equipment at both fitness centers.
Received an email regarding the use of common ground in the Kenwood Forest Neighborhood.
Reviewed a request for assistance concerning assessments and the reconstruction of a home damaged in a fire.
Reviewed an email from a resident with questions concerning proposed changes in the governance model.
Heard a status report regarding the fire damage at the Chancery Condominiums.
Took action to initiate further changes to the yard maintenance resolution. A public hearing to discuss these changes will be held prior to the beginning of the August 1^st board meeting.

The next KROC Board of Trustees meeting will be held on July 11, 2007.
