Highlights of the February 6, 2008 Meeting
· Heard a presentation concerning Springfield Post 7327, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States for the construction of a meeting facility at property located on Beulah Street. The building will be a meeting and recreational facility for VFW members. A two-story structure approximately forty feet in height on a 2 ½ parcel of land is planned. The construction of the new facility will not impact traffic or parking in Kingstowne.
· Received an update on the Lee Village project located on Beulah Street near the intersection with Manchester Lakes Boulevard. This is a joint venture with public and private funding for a new regional library and mixed-use housing development. 104 units of workforce housing units will be marketed towards employees of healthcare professionals, teachers, and other essential county professionals. An 84 unit housing development will be established as active adult housing.
· Approved the adoption of allowing non-residents the opportunity to participate in certain fitness and sports-related activities. This action follows a six month trial period during which the new arrangement was evaluated.
· Approved engaging Swart, Leland & Associates, P.C. to perform the 2007 financial audit for the association. An audit task force was also established that will conduct a review the audit and report back to the board.

The next board meeting will be held on March 5, 2008.
