Highlights of the August 1, 2007 Meeting

A public hearing was held regarding a modification to the yard maintenance enforcement policy. Based on feedback from the community and additional discussion by the Board of Trustees no change in the policy was made.

In other action, the board

Voted to take corrective action for yard maintenance violations against the owners of 17 homes if the violations are not corrected by the deadline dates already provided to the homeowners.
Reviewed a yard maintenance violation and follow-up response from the property owner. Took action to assess a monetary fine until the yard violation is cleared.
Approved the 2007-mid-year budge adjustments
Provided conditional approval for additional lighting in the Prestwick Neighborhood pending final details between the neighborhoods, Dominion Power and KROC.
Denied a resident's waiver request concerning the cost of sending a demand letter notification.
Heard a request concerning replacement of concrete sidewalks in the Breighton Neighborhood.
Approved action providing for the fining of property owners who illegally park vehicles in a manner which block the sidewalks, following notification.
Denied an architectural appeal in the Breighton Neighborhood for a driveway extension but assisted in the development of an alternative solution.
Approved nominees of members to serve on the 2007 Election Committee.
Approved providing assistance at the Kingstowne Towne Center during the Friday evening concerts.
