Kingstowne residents gathered at the South Center on November 10th for the KROC Annual Meeting. Below is a list of topics that were covered:
- Volunteers from the Architectural Review Committee (ARC), Audit Committee, Capital Planning Task Force, Egg Hunt, Election Committee, Financial Advisory Committee (FAC), Grounds Task Force, Home Expo Task Force, Farmers Market, Haunted House, Kingstonian, Neighborhood Advisory Boards (NABs), and Pool Pals Task Force were recognized with a token of appreciation.
- Details were given on the landscaping initative that took place in Derbyshire, Yorkshire, Edinburgh, and Chatsworth neighborhoods.
- A review of new and/or revised architectural guidelines was given. For a complete list of updated guidelines, click here.
- The initiative to improve the Snyder pool deck was discussed and residents were asked to provide comments on the following improvement goals: (1) increased usable deck area, (2) easy access to eating areas, (3) more shade and conversation areas, (4) creating an area for small parties, and (5) the addition of one or more modern water features. Comments can be emailed to by December 15.

- Announcement of a second Home Expo being planed for Spring of 2012.
- The history of Kingstowne is being researched and plans to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Kingstowne have been initiated. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
- The 2011-2012 Elections were explained and the new Board of Trustees members and Neighborhood Advisory Board Representatives were announced. For a complete list, click here.
- Two nearby residential development plans were reviewed; Palisades and Walhaven. In the near future, each homeowner in Kingstowne will receive information from the developer who will be asking for support to annex Palisades (10 single family homes) into Kingstowne. The Walhaven development of 19 age-restricted homes is "on-hold" at this time.
- The budget and financials were reviewed and an increase to the general assessments was announced. In 2012, single family/townhouse/duplex assessment fees will be $91.75 per month and the new condominium fee will be $54.00 per month.
- Delegate Mark Sickles gave a briefing on state issues to include transportation, budget, and legislative issues. Lee District Supervisor Jeff McKay provided a report through a letter addressed to the community which discussed plans to relieve traffice congestion, updates on Springfield Mall, Wegman's, downtown Springfield, and the Kingstowne dam.
